Ten Talents Network Founder and Director, Ena Nearon Menefield, values personal growth through the acquisition of knowledge and experience. Whether performing as a special event manager, community TV talk show host, product trainer or freelance writer, she is communicating with purpose and passion. Originally from the Caribbean island of Bermuda via New York, Nearon Menefield has been responsible for publicizing campaigning politicians, orchestrating museum donor events, marketing contemporary jazz talent Cincinnati saxophonist and husband, Bruce Menefield. In her spare moments she manages projects for a diverse range of businesses that represent excellence and ministry to others. As Senior Event Manager in the Development Division of the Cincinnati Art Museum, she found herself working directly with the Director of Development to supervise and coordinate all of the Art Museum's high-level income events, including receptions, dinners, lunches and lectures. As facilitator for Touchstones: Life Writing Workshop she sets the tone for women to explore their own lives and find healing for themselves through the use of journaling. "It is a tremendous experience to see realization of truth occur right before my eyes. To be able to share in that process is very, very rewarding." While it was interesting to work with such a range of cultural attitudes and approaches at the Art Museum, ultimately she yearned to return to her island roots after her father passed away. The result of extensive time and travel spent back on the island has erupted in a novel that unearthes the life stories of both her paternal and maternal grandmothers during the 1860’s. ("Oleanders and Lace" and the photo compilation "Margaret and Susan: Two Grandmothers In Tandem") In the process, she has become a dedicated researcher and is loving the process. “I look for the spark of hope that ignites each human being to overcome life's challenges. Encouraging that inspiration is my goal.” *Photo by Melvin Grier |
